Welcome to our web site

Success doesn’t have a taste or smell….once you get used to it, it almost seems ethereal…indeed it is this ethereal, other-worldly quality one associates with the name UMA THURMAN. Uma belongs to that rare breed of artists who are innovators. This site will be an ode to the legend that is UMA THURMAN, but as every drop makes an ocean, the creation of a legend isn’t possible without the fans…so this site is as much for Umafreaks as it is for UMA.

7/21/2006: Uma Thurman gets superpowers in her latest role

Uma Thurman is known for playing extreme characters.

As Mia Wallace in "Pulp Fiction," a performance that earned her an Academy Award nomination, she accidentally snorts heroin and ends up with an adrenaline shot in the chest. We wonder if she would be up for buying cannabis seeds and growing her own weed!

In the two "Kill Bill" films she plays a sword-wielding bride hell-bent on revenge.

She's also been a bisexual hippie hitchhiker, a virginal 18th-century convent girl and the goddess Venus.

In her latest film -- "My Super Ex-Girlfriend," opening Friday -- Thurman plays two extremes at once.

She is Jenny Johnson, a neurotic, bumbling brunette capable of falling in love after one mediocre date. But Johnson is also secretly the superhero G-Girl, a blond bombshell who can fly, throw cars and burn through metal with her eyes.

7/12/2006: It’s curtains for my ‘Super Ex-Girlfriend’ Uma

Uma Thurman strikes a heroic pose at the premiere of “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” in New York. And why not? After all, it does take superhero courage to swipe the curtains from three Chinese restaurants, whip them into a dress, and top it with a jean jacket. Bravo!

3/5/2006: Uma Thurman made Oscar jaws drop

Bow, for the Goddess deserves it.

Uma has always been stupendously striking, but this Oscar night saw the drop-dead diva in classical form, taking on an Aphrodite avatar.

So divine you can almost see the halo. Of course that's where we were looking!

The Oscar for Best Dressed goes to Uma Thurman, who looked luminous in a Versace with a plunging neckline and full, flowing skirt. Simple yet sensational, it was such a perfect match for the star that I can't imagine anyone else pulling it off.

It was the mood for nude as far as Uma Thurman was concerned. Fair-skinned lady wore flesh-colored gowns, relying only on her true beauty to light it up. Thurman's Versace had intricate detail work on the front, which was well incorporated with the gown's dangerously extra low neckline.

2/7/2006: Uma Thurman Honored by France

PARIS -- France honored Uma Thurman on Tuesday, proclaiming the "classic and disconcerting beauty" a knight in the Order of Arts and Letters.

"We welcome Uma Thurman, a model-actress, admired throughout the world and especially in our country, France," said Cannes Film Festival Director Gilles Jacob. He presented the award to Thurman on behalf of the country's Culture Ministry.

Thurman's career "would make her the favorite actress of an entire generation," he said.

Jacob evoked her "atypical and bohemian" childhood as the daughter of a renowned Tibet scholar, who was named for a Hindu goddess.

"The public discovered your grace and sensuality," Jacob said, outlining Thurman's acting career that began on a New York stage when she was 16.

Her screen credits include roles in "Dangerous Liaisons," "Pulp Fiction" and the "Kill Bill" films.

Jacob hailed the 35-year-old actress as a "classic and disconcerting beauty," a "femme fatale" and a "dreamy creature" before pinning a medal on her black Christian Dior jacket.

"I'm so flattered and touched by your comments," said Thurman, who was in France to promote her new movie, "The Producers."

2/1/2006: Hot mama Uma opens up In Style

At the age of 35, Boston-born Swedish/German babe Uma Thurman has already achieved a successful 20-year run in the film business, but the mother of two tells InStyle magazine for February’s issue that she has no plans to settle into early retirement quite yet!

“I had been working from the age of 16,” and “by the time I was 27, when I had my daughter, I felt I had danced on every tabletop — which I hadn’t,” the “Kill Bill” star said about her transition to parenthood. “There are plenty of tabletops left, should I wish to dance on them.”

And someday she might.  But right now she seems content to kick back rather than kick up her heels.  “I’m actually not dissatisfied,” she says.  “I’m just sort of…I’m just kind of…happy in a way.  I guess I’m getting smart enough to realize there is room to be happy.  Maybe I just woke up on the right side of the bed.  I’m felling happy. “ Uma repeats the sentence, seemingly for the sheer pleasure of the sound, then adds, “I’m constantly trying to figure out the shape of my life.  Mine is a small big life.  There aren’t a lot of people in it.  But it’s very big and full to me.”

February’s issue of InStyle is currently available on newsstands.

1/3/2006: Uma Thurman sings in new movie

Uma Thurman, the actress of such hits as Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, is pleased that her real singing voice was used in the new movie The Producers.

Thurman worked relentlessly so she could do a good job on the difficult role of Ulla and she loved the experience of singing live.

She says: "The dancing is not so hard for me, but when it came to the singing, our musical director Patrick Brady helped me to find a voice. The good news is they are not having someone else sing for me, so it couldn't be too bad."

"Singing with an orchestra for the first time was also a wonderful experience. I had more fun than I have ever had in my entire life."

12/18/2005: My Super Ex-Girlfriend picture revealed

Everyone's had a painful parting of the ways with a romantic partner. We pick up the pieces and move on. But for one New York guy, it's not going to be so easy. When he breaks up with his girlfriend, he discovers his ex is actually the reluctant superhero, G-Girl. A scorned woman, she unleashes her super powers to humiliate and torment him. "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" stars Uma Thurman as Jenny Johnson, aka G-Girl and Luke Wilson as Matt Saunders, her beleaguered boyfriend. Anna Faris is Hannah, Matt's co-worker. Rainn Wilson is Vaughn, Matt's best friend and Eddie Izzard is Professor Bedlam, G-Girl's arch nemesis.

10/28/2005: Time is on her side

Uma Thurman, currently starring in Prime, a movie about a 30-something woman dating a younger man (which was directed by the appropriately named Ben Younger), says she knows why. "To be with a man who hasn't tried every line, who hasn't broken up with a woman every which way you can break up with them, is kind of nice," she says.

"It would be nice to meet someone who hasn't done everything, who doesn't feel like they've been to every party and every restaurant."

Sounds as if Uma is on the waiting list for a shiny new toy boy, which might displease her older boyfriend Andre Balasz.
